Can Sticking Doors or Windows Signal Foundation Movement?

Doors and windows can stick because of humidity, hardware, paint, framing changes and other ordinary causes. When several openings change at the same time and the home also shows cracking or uneven floors, foundation movement becomes one possibility worth evaluating.

Look for a pattern

Document which openings have changed and whether you also see wall cracks, floor changes or exterior masonry movement. A collection of observations is more useful than treating one sticking door as a diagnosis.
