Water, Drainage and Foundation Problems

Water around a foundation can contribute to basement moisture and can interact with soil and structural conditions. However, a wet basement and a structural foundation problem are not automatically the same issue.

Separate the symptom from the cause

Water entry can come from multiple sources. Structural movement can also have multiple causes. An evaluation should distinguish moisture-control needs from structural-repair needs instead of assuming one solution fixes both.

Look at drainage conditions
